We bought our first GWP in 1994, from Pine Tree Kennels in upstate New York. We named him Gustav (Gus). He was from German Bloodlines and was a natural Hunter. Training him was easy. Hunting for birds was always fun and successful. He was a loyal family member.

As Gus got older (12 yrs.) we decided it was time for another GWP to join our family.We knew we could not be without a wirehair. Gus has since passed on and we now have 3 GWP'S.

At Hawk Haven Wires we strive to breed GWP'S that have great temperaments, conformation, and field potential. Our dogs are our family pets and companions.

Hawk Haven Wires sits on 10 private acres in the Shawangunk Mountains of Sullivan County, NY. The kennel has 6 inside/outside covered runs. Our dogs sleep inside at night. The property is surrounded by Invisible electric fence so the dogs have plenty of open space to exercise. We belong to the German Wirehaired Pointer Club of America, The Delaware Valley German Wirehaired Pointer Club , and The Suncoast German Wirehaired Pointer Club. We are active in the Show ring, Hunt tests, training and hunting our GWP'S.
